The solo exhibition of the artist Pietro Danilo Taormina opens on Thursday 31 March at 5.30 pm at the Sala Borsellino of Palazzo Jung in Palermo, “The flower and the abyss – narration of a visionary”.
The exhibition proposed and curated by the artist himself is a reflection on the misconduct of our society devoid of moral values, and comes from the study of various authors of the history of art, from Bosch to Geoge Grosz, Jan Van Eyck, Goya and many others.
The visionary works inspired by medieval, Flemish and expressionism art, include a series of mythological and religious characters that tell the world and today’s society, and represent an absolutely new pictorial dimension in the Sicilian art scene, both in the transgression both in tradition and in compliance with the rules.
From Genesis to the present day and then to works such as the “Last Judgment”, while in other paintings such as the “Black Tale”, animals describe deteriorating aspects of human behavior.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 01 to 15 April 2022 with the following times: Monday to Friday from 90.00 / 13.00 and from 15.00 / 18.30 – Saturday, Sunday and holidays closing.
