On the 23rd anniversary of his passing, the municipal administration of Palermo paid homage to the composer and pianist Eliodoro Sollimanaming the square after him a few steps from what was his second home, the Palermo conservatory, of which he was also director.
“We honor a musician, a master. A man who made music his cultural message during his existence. He has spread his work all over the world, he has become the banner of this city and it was an honor to participate in today’s ceremony in the presence of his children who have passionately collected his artistic legacy “, says the mayor of Palermo Roberto Lagalla.
After the unveiling of the plaque, as can be seen from the video, his son Giovanni Sollima played a composition by his father together with three other students of the conservatory.
