A merchant’s car in Menfi caught fire. During the night, a Kia Sportage went up in flames on Francesco Petrarca street in the municipality of Agrigento, under circumstances that suggest it was intentional. The residents, alarmed by the smell of burning coming through their windows, went outside and witnessed the burning car. The firefighters from the Santa Margherita Belice detachment intervened to extinguish the flames and secure the area. The car was completely destroyed. Following the opening of an investigation by the Agrigento prosecutor’s office, law enforcement authorities are investigating to determine the causes of the fire and, above all, whether it was intentionally started and for what reason.
