In Cefalù, a square is dedicated to the victims of the Nassiriya massacre
A ceremony was held in Cefalù, in Palermo, to name a square adjacent to the Church of the Spirit in honor of the victims of the Nassiriya massacre. The event was attended by local and regional authorities, military and religious representatives, as well as family members of the fallen. A commemorative plaque with the names of the victims was unveiled, and sand from Nassiriya as well as a commemorative tile made by a student from Cefalù were also presented. The ceremony included a blessing from the bishop and a moving prayer from a member of the Carabinieri. The naming of the square was organized by the local section of the National Carabinieri Association in coordination with the Cefalù municipal administration, and was meant to symbolize the values of loyalty, honor, and sacrifice.
