Illegal occupation in Sciacca, a seaside resort establishment seized
#Agrigento
Structural irregularities have been discovered in a beach establishment in San Marco, Sciacca (Ag), along with the unlawful occupation of part of the coastal public land by the placement of umbrellas and beach chairs. The military officers of the maritime police and defense division of the Coast Guard, along with the Carabinieri, executed a preventive seizure order issued by the judge, upon the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Sciacca. The seized assets were found to be non-compliant – in terms of number, location, shape, and size – with what was authorized by the regional Department of Territory and Environment for the maritime public concession. Two individuals are under investigation for their alleged involvement in the unlawful occupation and encroachment on the coastal public space. Specifically, seals were placed on walkways/platforms, access ramps, pedestrian paths, and steps, totaling 600 square meters, as well as 40 umbrellas, 131 beach chairs, and 7 wooden divider panels measuring 2×1 meters.
