Illegal nursing home in Pachino closed after Nas inspection

The Carabinieri of the Nas in Ragusa discovered a nursing home in Pachino that was completely lacking all necessary authorizations. After an inspection by the military, the mayor ordered its closure and the relocation of residents to their families or other authorized facilities. The nursing home not only lacked the necessary authorizations, but also failed to meet the organizational and functional requirements outlined in the regulations. Similar inspections in Scicli uncovered significant health and structural deficiencies, as well as noncompliance with self-control procedures and organizational requirements. The mayor immediately suspended the two facilities. The owners of all three establishments were fined a total of €12,186.
