Il Palermo is advancing thanks to Rigoberto Rivas: Corrado is always considered for the wing.

Palermo is making progress in acquiring Rigoberto Rivas from Reggina. The forward has been a target for some time and his agent has already had multiple contacts with the management of Palermo. Born in Balfate, Honduras, Rivas has scored 3 goals and provided two assists this season with Inzaghi’s team. He is a perfect fit for Corini’s 4-3-3 formation, as he can play in various positions, from the right or left attacking winger to the central striker. Throughout his career, he has also played as an attacking midfielder 19 times and as a central midfielder 6 times.

He is a versatile player who can adapt to the team’s needs. Rivas currently has a contract with Reggina until 2025, but after three years, he may want to change clubs. He was developed in Inter’s youth academy, and although he was also called up to the Serie A team in the 2016-2017 season, he never made an appearance. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is €1.2 million, but Palermo hopes for a mutual termination of his contract, which would free him up on a free transfer. The next few days could be crucial for the success of the negotiation.

Palermo has also shown interest in left-back Gianluca Di Chiara from Reggina. This season, he made 33 appearances (including one in the playoffs) and provided 3 assists. The sporting director, Leandro Rinaudo, is keeping an eye on him, although Niccolò Corrado, who previously played for Palermo in the 2020-2021 season in Serie C, is the preferred choice to accompany Aurelio on the left side. The ownership transfer of Ternana has recently been finalized, which now allows the negotiation to take off. Another left-back option they are considering is Pietro Beruatto from Pisa. Currently, Palermo is only observing as they are not willing to pay the amount requested by the Tuscan club, which is around €4 million.

In terms of departures, Samuele Damiani and Jeremie Broh are the hottest names. Damiani, who previously played for Empoli, is mostly being sought after by Vicenza, while Triestina has backed out. Palermo has good relations with the Biancorossi club, as evidenced by the Desplanches deal, and this could facilitate Damiani’s move to Veneto.

As for Andrea Silipo, there has been a new setback. It seemed like he was close to joining Pro Vercelli, but an agreement has not been reached, at least for now. Audace Cerignola, a team from Group C of Serie C, is once again showing strong interest in the Roman forward. Last year, Silipo was loaned to Juve Stabia. What is certain is that he will be leaving Palermo permanently, as he no longer fits the plans of the club.

Overall, Palermo is actively working on its transfer dealings, both in terms of incoming and outgoing players, as they aim to strengthen the squad and achieve their goals for the upcoming season.
