Among the rooms of one of the largest collections of puppets and marionettes in the world, Roberto Lipari presents “I Know Everything About You”. The romantic comedy, available on Amazon Prime starting tomorrow, sees Lipari not only as the lead actor, but also as the screenwriter and director. At the Antonio Pasqualino International Puppet Museum, the two co-stars, Roberta Rigano and Barbara Tabita, also appear, representing two contrasting realities in the film: slowness and tradition – represented by the puppets and Sara – and speed and modernity, finding comfort in the use of artificial intelligence.

“The idea for the film originated during the pandemic,” Lipari explains to gds.it. “I heard a minister say that the elderly are not very productive and that we can do without them; I disagree, because the protagonist of this film is a grandfather.” Leading the story is Roberto’s own grandfather, played by Leo Gullotta, and his puppet theater.

In the film, Lipari works as a real estate agent and often appears distracted and clumsy to his clients. “Roberto in this film is a part of me,” the Palermo comedian explains. “Every time I play a character, it’s a part of me. It’s the part of me that makes blunders, that always says the wrong things at the wrong time.”

His boss is Barbara Tabita, “a social climber who bases her life on numbers,” the actress explains. “She always wants to benefit from everything. She’s addicted to work.”

Roberto will earn the respect and approval of his boss when he comes into possession of a computer capable of reading people’s algorithms – through a series of fortuitous events. However, he will learn at his own expense – falling in love with Sara (Roberta Rigano) – that the gift of entering other people’s lives to discover their most intimate desires is a power that is very difficult to control.
