LECCE – Military officers of the Carabinieri Lieutenancy of Copertino executed in Palermo a judicial police detention issued by the Lecce Public Prosecutor against a 41-year-old Sicilian, accused of child pornography and extortion. The man, a computer technician, is accused of having lured over 20 girls between 9 and 12 years of age throughout Facebook. The victims were allegedly forced, with the 41-year-old threat to reveal their daughters' contact with a stranger, to send intimate photos and videos. The facts refer to the period between March 2018 and April 2019.
The investigation started from Salento, from Copertino, after the complaint of the parents of one of the two Salentine victims, a 12-year-old girl. The investigation, coordinated by the prosecutor of the Court of Lecce Luigi Mastroniani, led to three house searches in the Sicilian capital, with the seizure of substantial child pornography computer material. The detainee is in the Pagliarelli prison in Palermo.
