Girl urgently transported from Brindisi to Palermo

The emergency medical transfer for a 5-year-old girl from Brindisi airport to Palermo airport has been completed, using a Falcon 900 aircraft from the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force. The young patient, in imminent danger of death, needed to be urgently transferred from Vito Fazzi hospital in Lecce to Ismett in Palermo. The girl was accompanied by her parents and constantly monitored by a specialized medical team. Emergency medical transport is one of the institutional activities that the Italian Air Force carries out in service of the community. The flight, defined in this case as “EVD – Imminent Danger of Death”, was activated at the request of the Prefecture of Lecce to the Top Situation Room of the Air Force Command. This immediately involved the 31st Wing of Ciampino, one of the units that performs operational readiness for such missions.
