Giovanni Pitruzzella named as judge of Constitutional Court

On November 6, 2023, President Sergio Mattarella appointed Giovanni Pitruzzella and Antonella Sciarrone Alibrandi as judges of the Constitutional Court, replacing Daria de Pretis and Nicolò Zanon. They will be sworn in on November 14 at the Quirinale Palace. Pitruzzella, born in 1959 in Palermo, is a constitutional law professor and former president of the Antitrust Authority. Currently, he serves as Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the European Union.
