Gerard Butler visits Palermo, no selfies but lots of smiles.

For years, Palermo has been a destination for filmmakers and productions, bringing actors and personalities to the island and Palermo itself. Recently, actor Gerard Butler was spotted in a popular bar in the historic center, enjoying a drink and the city. He expressed his love for Palermo and the beauty of the city to a local girl he chatted with. Butler is in town for the film “La mano di Dante,” along with actors Oscar Isaac and Jason Momoa. The film, based on the novel by Nick Tosches, tells the story of a literary critic who becomes involved with the mafia after encountering the original manuscript of Dante’s Divine Comedy. The film’s cast includes Gal Godot as well. Filming will continue in Palermo until October 26, and then move to Rome and Florence.
