Gangi reopens San Cataldo church, patron saint statue returns

Three years after being struck by lightning, the San Cataldo church in Gangi has reopened for worship. The church restoration project, which involved repairing the roof, facade, and the ceramic spire that was hit by lightning in September 2020, was presented at the Mother Church. The project was completed thanks to a school workshop and the expertise of the Spitale Santo company. The mayor, previous administrations, the local technical office, the restorer, and the Bcc delle Madonie were all thanked for their contributions. The mayor expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in returning the important place of worship to the community. A procession and Eucharistic celebration, led by the San Cataldo parish priest, officially returned the church to the faithful.
