Fugitive traced to Palermo and arrested for bank robbery in Vicentino

The fourth person believed to be responsible for the robbery that took place on November 2, 2023 at the “Bvr” branch in Roana (Vicenza) has been tracked down and arrested in Palermo. The man, C.G., aged 49, had been missing since last May during the arrests carried out by the Carabinieri of Thiene following the investigations that had led to the identification of the 4 alleged authors of the robbery. The investigations by the authorities, coordinated by the Vicenza Prosecution office, had allowed to gather numerous pieces of evidence and establish a strong circumstantial case against the suspects, leading the Vicenza Prosecutor to request and obtain a pre-trial detention order from the Vicenza preliminary investigating judge.
During the robbery, carried out by three masked bandits, the bank employees were locked in an office, deprived of their cell phones, and immobilized with electrician’s ties, while the fourth was waiting for them outside the branch in a car. The Carabinieri, immediately after the robbery, had collected numerous surveillance camera images, whose subsequent analysis and the testimony of various people, led to the identification of the car used by the robbers. The man has been taken to the “Pagliarelli” prison in Palermo.
