This morning, a fight with an injury occurred at the weekly local market in Francofonte. According to initial reports, a violent argument broke out between the stall owners, but the motivations behind it are still unknown. The owner of one of the stalls and the father of a worker hired by the municipality to maintain order and cleanliness in the fair area got into a verbal altercation, which escalated into physical violence. After some pushing and verbal insults, the worker’s father allegedly got into his car and drove into both the stall and the owner. The impact damaged large ceramic pots, furnishings, and clothes. The stall owner was injured and taken to the hospital, while bystanders alerted the authorities. The local Carabinieri arrived on the scene, but the reasons for the fight remain unclear.
