Former Gela slaughterhouse turns into Food Bank, agreement between Municipality and private companies

The authorization process for the conversion of the former slaughterhouse in Gela into a Food Bank has been completed. The mayor has sent a letter to the refinery president and Enimed’s CEO to inquire about the start date of the renovation works. The agreement includes a 10-year loan of the premises to Enimed, Raffineria di Gela, and Eni Rewind, who will undertake the renovation and conversion of the facilities for food storage and distribution. The project is expected to benefit between 5800 and 7900 people and to promote social networking and community involvement.
