Former Chief Commissioner Raiti dies in Catania; mourning in Sicilian Civil Protection.

Rocco Raiti, a former senior commissioner and commander of the mountain rescue of the Sicilian Regional Forestry Corps, has passed away at the age of 68 in Catania. Throughout his career, he participated in numerous national emergencies alongside officials and volunteers. Raiti was well-known for his passion and knowledge of Mount Etna, as well as his expertise in the region. He leaves behind his wife and three children. The General Manager, Salvo Cocina, extends his deepest condolences to the family on behalf of the volunteers and officials of the regional civil protection department. The funeral will take place on Friday at 10:30 am at the main church in Linguaglossa.
