Fiumefreddo resident calls 112 as elderly neighbor remains bedridden due to diabetic crisis.

The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile sections of Acireale and Giarre were involved in rescuing two men, aged 80 and 69, who were in life-threatening situations. In Acireale, the alarm was raised after the wife of a 69-year-old man from Catania called 112, fearing that her husband, who suffered from an illness, might attempt to take his own life. The man was found in pain on the rocks in Aci Castello after stumbling. The Carabinieri provided assistance and, with the help of 118 personnel, he was transported to Cannizzaro Hospital in Catania, where he received the necessary medical treatment and was reunited with his wife. In Fiumefreddo, a citizen alerted the Carabinieri after not receiving any response from his neighbor for several days. The military reached the home of the 80-year-old man, entering through a kitchen window, and found him lying on the bed, unable to move due to severe hypoglycemia. After providing first aid, the Carabinieri requested assistance from 118 personnel, who transported the man to the hospital in Giarre, where he was placed under the care of doctors.
