First floor unusable, double shifts for 540 children at the Garzilli branch in Palermo

About 540 children of the Trinacria plexusbranch of the institution Nicolo Garzilli, starting next week they will be forced to attend alternating morning and afternoon lessons. The first floor of the building, after an inspection conducted also in the presence of the councilor for education and school construction, Aristide Tamajo, was in fact declared unusable.

As recounted by some parents, whose words were confirmed by the head teacher, Angela Mineo, the rooms on the upper floor of the Institute have been deteriorating for some time. The city’s school buildings have been suffering from various critical issues for several years due to the absence of maintenance works that are slow to arrive. “We have decided to close the school for the first two days of the week – says the head teacher – and from Wednesday we will start rotations that will see all the classes as protagonists, so as to reduce the inconvenience we will encounter as much as possible”.

Councilor Tamajo immediately made himself available to activate funds that the school will be able to manage in complete autonomy in the hope that the waiting times linked to the tender and the consequent works will be shortened as much as possible: «We hope they arrive as soon as possible possible – continues Professor Mineo -, if all goes well we will have to be ready and return to normal at the end of January”.
