Several areas in the province of Palermo, including Partinico, Villabate, San Giuseppe Jato, Termini Imerese, and Campofelice di Roccella, were hit by wildfires during the night. The civil protection and fire brigade worked until dawn to control the flames. In Campofelice, a large fire broke out near a belvedere, reaching the entrance road of the town, destroying a house and a Chinese shopping center. People were forced to evacuate their homes due to the smoke and fear of the fire spreading. Fires were also reported in Termini Imerese and Villabate, with the fire almost reaching the industrial area and leading to the closure of a section of the Palermo-Agrigento highway. The Palermo-Mazara del Vallo highway was also temporarily closed due to the threat of the flames.
