Fifty-one migrants rescued off the coast of Portopalo di Capo Passero and taken to Pozzallo

Fifty-one migrants were rescued 7 miles from Portopalo di Capo Passero. The rescue was carried out by the coast guard patrol boat Cp 325, which departed from Pozzallo. The rescued individuals were landed a few hours later in Pozzallo from a distressed vessel; aside from several cases of scabies, there were no major health issues after checks by Usmaf and Asp for the 51 rescued individuals from Cp 325. In total, there were 30 men, 6 women, and 15 minors, including three young girls. After landing, they were transferred to the Pozzallo hotspot. The nationalities of the migrants were Eritrean and Bangladeshi, although one of the migrants is Algerian.
