A boutique festival that focuses on the encounter between jazz sounds and contemporary influences at the center of its research.
Four days of concerts and shows immersed in the millenary magic of the Valley of the Temples, the largest archaeological park in the world, included in the UNESCO list of Cultural Heritage of Humanity, where you can experience the magic of jazz notes among the ancestral beauty of classical ruins, perfumes of Mediterranean scrub and unforgettable sunsets.
Each concert lives in the enchantment of timeless places: the live at sunset in the luxuriant Garden of the Kolymbethra overlooking the Temple of the Dioscurithe first evening on the main stage at the foot of the majestic Temple of Junoto finish the ritual of passage of thedawn at the Temple of Concordiawith a special theatrical event, waiting for the moment when the first rays of light heat the sandstone of the Doric columns.
Festivalle has among its objectives that of promoting the Agrigento area through music and culture and promoting social inclusion, for this reason it wanted to develop a real experiential format that over the years has been enriched with itineraries and tourist ideas that offer the opportunity to experience the artistic, historical and natural heritage of the Valley of the Temples in an unprecedented way.
The artists in line up
Let’s start Thursday 4th August and the Karate reunion is celebrated, historic post rock / slowcore jazz band from Boston who returns to perform together after 17 years and for FVL will animate the olive trees and archaeological remains of the Kolymbethra Garden. Defined as “indie-jazz” when the term “indie” still indicated the underground and not pop music, now Karate is ready to rekindle the hearts of the fans of the first hour and to make the new generations fall in love.
On the same day, crossing the Via Sacra and visiting the wonders of the Archaeological and Landscape Park, to the Temple of Juno two more concerts in the late evening: Rita Payes & Elisabeth Rome: the young Catalan trombonist and singer performs in a quartet formation with her mother, a classical guitarist, in a sensual and refined sound path.
The two musicians, who released their second album Como la piel in 2021, will share the stage with Horacio Fumero on double bass and Juan R.
Berbin on drums in a magical repertoire that blends jazz, bossa nova and classical guitar.
At the end of the evening, he arrives on the main stage Dele Sosimi, aka The Ambassador of Afrobeat! Keyboardist and musical director of the legendary Egypt 80 by Fela Kuti and later collaborator of Femi Kuti, Dele Sosimi is one of the greatest spokespersons of world black music, capable of ranging from groove funk to African rhythms, from jazz to traditional Nigerian music.
On the FVL stage, he will present his latest album “Full Moon” in live version with a band of 7 musicians.
Friday 5th August will mark the meeting between two worlds: urban funk and Afro-Caribbean sound.
From the Neapolitan underground to international success, i Nu Genea they are finally back live in full band with a highly anticipated new album due out in May.
On the same evening, the psychedelic groove of Mauskovic, five Dutch multi-instrumentalists who continue to exchange instruments without ever stopping.
A great party is shaping up.
Saturday 6th August arrives exclusively (only Italian date) Kamaal Williams! British keyboardist and producer, he achieved international fame with the Yussef Kamaal project, together with drummer Yussef Dayes.
The debut album “Black Focus” won numerous awards – including Jazz FM’s “Breaktrough Act” – and became a benchmark for the new jazz world scene.
Kamaal never ceases to amaze, with its adventurous sound that draws on jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop.
We look forward to seeing him at FVL with an extraordinary five-piece live band, to present his latest album “Wu Hen”.
The eclectic multi-instrumentalist also arrives on the same evening, Marco Castello in his songs he talks about contemporaneity, moving with ease between the languages of jazz, pop, funk and blues for a fresh and light sound, elegant and immediate.
Sunday 7th August the famous Brazilian musician at the temple of Juno Toquinho will celebrate its 50 years of success, a tribute concert to all those great friends with whom Toquinho shared so much music and so much poetry, a tribute to the best Brazilian jazz of all time.
To open the concert i Lovesick Duoa foray into the atmospheres of country, rock ‘n’ roll and swing made in the USA create retro, fun and romantic musical harmonies.

In step with the Temples – The Awakening of the Gods – special guest Anais Drago
The play “Al Passo coi Templi” is a dreamlike journey between Myth, Music and Theater with over 40 performers.
The Gods of the classical Greek world appear as white statues between the columns of the temples and come to life between dances, songs and theatrical scenes.
A successful Sicilian experiment created by the Casa del Musical artists to tell the wonderful Unesco site of the Valley of the Temples.
Special Guest Anais Drago, winner of the top jazz – category “new proposals” – of the magazine Musica Jazz 2021, the young artist moves between the sounds of jazz, rock, world-music, always with an eye to new sounds and boundary kinds.
