Fear for a fire in Casa Santa Erice, houses and prison affected

Yesterday evening, there was fear around 10 pm due to a sudden fire that broke out between the San Cusumano area and the Pietro Cerulli prison in Erice Casa Santa. Fueled by strong southerly winds, the flames quickly spread to the surrounding residential areas, consuming vegetation in its path. Firefighters, civil protection, and forestry teams were alerted and promptly arrived at the scene. Although the fire came close to many houses, fortunately, there were no significant damages or casualties. The fire was extinguished overnight, followed by the clean-up of the affected areas.
