Fatal scooter crash in Porto Empedocle: 54-year-old worker dies, other flees and is sought.

A fatal road accident has occurred in Sicily, resulting in the death of Sergio Burgio, a 54-year-old worker from Porto Empedocle. Burgio was riding his Yamaha scooter in Contrada Cannelle, near Via Sauro, when he collided with another moped, a Honda SH, for reasons still being investigated. According to initial reports, Burgio was thrown from his scooter and hit his head on a parked Peugeot 207 car. Despite immediate emergency response efforts, Burgio died instantly. The authorities, including the local police and carabinieri, have arrived at the scene to conduct investigations and reconstruct the accident. The driver of the Honda SH fled the scene, and it is unknown whether they experienced any injuries. Preliminary information suggests that the individual may have stolen the moped prior to the accident. The carabinieri are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the area to gather more evidence on the incident.
