Falcone-Borsellino Airport: United’s Palermo-New York route from May next year.

The American airline United has officially announced the opening of the new Palermo-Newark (New York) route, from May to September 2025, with three frequencies: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The flight will be operated by a B767/400.
In 2020, before the pandemic, United already had plans for the flight to the Big Apple. However, Covid put the connection on hold. Now United is returning to Palermo for a new experience, keeping the commitment made four years ago to return to flying from the Sicilian capital.
“The board of directors worked with great passion and commitment to bring back the route to Palermo,” says Salvatore Burrafato, president of Gesap, the company that manages Palermo Falcone Borsellino International Airport. “I thank the entire Gesap structure for the work done so far, and I thank the American company for once again focusing on Palermo Airport.”
