At Catania airport, luxury counterfeit brands were seized by the customs and finance guard. The staff conducted screenings on passengers from non-European countries, intercepting some attempting to bring counterfeit products into Italy. Fake Rolex watches, clothing, and leather goods with famous national and international brands were found. Eight seizures were made, leading to over a hundred counterfeit items being confiscated from passengers returning from tourist or business trips. One person was reported and seven others were fined between 100 and 7,000 euros for the violations.
