Ex Pip of Palermo, glimmers for the relocation of 2,546 workers

“They let us know that the game will have to be closed by 15 July.” Speaking is Carmelo Scelta, Usb (basic union union), in reference to the relocation of the 2546 precarious workers in the former Pip basin, who for 21 years have been carrying out precarious activities in the offices of councils, schools, hospitals and public bodies, receiving a subsidy .
There would therefore be glimmers on the future of workers.

Two new very important meetings are scheduled for 29 and 30 June, on Wednesdays at the Labor Department headquarters and Thursdays at the Budget Department, meetings that will serve to inform Rome of the situation once again through projections on relocation: “For about a year – says Scelta – we trade unions and the Region of Sicily send all the documents that are requested of us, it almost seems like they want to take time.
These are all things they have already known for a long time ».

But there is a further obstacle: “We are not admitted to the table – says Carmelo Scelta – it is unthinkable that the social partners are not foreseen at the negotiating table”.
Even the Region is beating their fists so that the trade unions are present: the commissioner Gaetano Armao, in fact, has sent e-mails to the Ministry several times, insisting on the point, but the answer would always have been negative.

“The further shame – continues Carmelo Scelta – is that Sicily has remained the only Region still bound by the State-Regions pact: to date, over 200 million euros have been saved, a sign of the good work carried out, but we are still linked from these handcuffs ».
