The vaccination campaign for people over 80 years of age began today at Ismett. The first person to have received the vaccine is Angela Zaffuto (in the photo), 80, from Palermo. “I immediately joined the vaccine – underlines Mrs. Angela – and I couldn’t wait to do it. Now I feel more confident and I am happy about it”.
Vaccination operations began at 1 pm in a special area built in record time outside the Institute. Ismett, in this first phase, will perform 100 vaccinations per day. The vaccination team consists of 15 clinical and administrative staff. Vaccine operations will take place Monday to Friday from 1pm to 5pm and from 9am to 1pm on weekends.
“I thank all the Ismett staff for their availability and their renewed commitment to this activity. Today is a very important day – underlines the director Angelo Luca – because, after securing the health workers, vaccination of the elderly begins, the most fragile in the face of infection. We hope to be able to begin the second phase as soon as possible, which involves vaccinating transplants and organ transplant candidates “.
