Eolie: Derogation for Movida on Ferragosto
In the Aeolian Islands, after the restrictions on nightlife for bars and discos, Mayor Riccardo Gullo issued an “extraordinary” order. However, this order only applies for two days: Monday, August 14, and Tuesday, August 15. During this time, musical entertainment is allowed from 8 pm until 1 am the following day. Despite a request from the minority group led by Gaetano Orto, Mayor Gullo has stated that the ordinances will not change, citing the support of the Tar of Catania. In response, the mayor, his deputy Saverio Merlino, and the majority councilors left the meeting, causing a lack of quorum and the criticism of the minority group.
