A hit-and-run driver who caused an accident in Via Villagrazia, Palermo this morning has surrendered to authorities in the early afternoon. The driver hit and injured a sanitation worker who was collecting trash with his colleagues. The driver fled the scene after the accident, leaving the victim with serious injuries. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition and is at risk of losing a leg. The hit-and-run driver surrendered around 1pm. Police arrived at the scene of the accident to investigate and the road was temporarily closed for emergency response.
