#Catania
E-Distribuzione, a subsidiary of the Enel Group responsible for managing medium and low voltage electrical networks, has deployed a workforce of 570 personnel to address power outages in Catania caused by the heat, which is putting strain on power stations and the grid. The company has announced that an additional 150 technicians, 40 from E-Distribuzione and 110 from external companies, will join the 420 already present, including around 200 from third-party companies. Furthermore, 20 additional power generators and 4 high-capacity power stations will be deployed alongside the existing 5 power stations and 40 generators, in order to mitigate the impact of the extreme heatwave currently affecting the Sicily region, particularly in the Catania area. All interventions are being carried out in close coordination with local institutions, prefectures, and regional civil protection authorities. E-Distribuzione reaffirms its commitment to continue operating at its fullest capacity, using all available means, until the complete restoration of the electrical service. It also reminds residents that real-time information about outages and the status of power supply can be accessed through the “power outage map” on its website. To report a fault, a toll-free number is available 24/7, which requires callers to provide their electricity bill’s Pod code. Additionally, customers can use the chatbot Eddie on the company’s website or the E-Distribuzione app.
