Elderly wife dies as Taormina loses control of car and crashes into parked vehicles

A 77-year-old American woman died at the emergency room of the San Vincenzo hospital in Taormina as a result of a car accident that occurred yesterday afternoon (August 25) in Piazza Cacciola. The woman, married to a man from Taormina, was in a Fiat Seicento driven by her husband when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with three parked cars. The couple was rushed to the hospital, with the man sustaining fractures and the woman succumbing to multiple injuries. The prosecutor ordered the seizure of the vehicle and the body, which will undergo an autopsy in the coming days.
