Drug pusher held hostage released in Siracusa by Special Forces raid

An unpaid debt for a drug deal, 4 kilograms of marijuana, not paid: this would be the motive for the shooting between two rival gangs that occurred on the evening of June 20 in the district of Jungi in Scicli. The group claiming the credit, coming from Siracusa, allegedly fired two gunshots at the insolvent rivals and kidnapped one of them as collateral for the debt. The motive and dynamics of the incident were reconstructed by carabinieri from the Investigative Unit of Ragusa and the Modica company, who managed to discover the hideout where the hostage was held, a 19-year-old North African resident in Modica, and freed him in a blitz in the center of Siracusa, with the participation of special units of the police, arresting the kidnapper, a 17-year-old from Siracusa. Further investigations led to the discovery of the hideout where the hostage was held; a house in the center of Siracusa. The carabinieri organized the blitz in detail and intervened, in addition to the territorial units of Ragusa and Siracusa, with the help of special units: Gis from Livorno, Api from Catania, and the Eliportato Cacciatori squadron from Sigonella. The military entered the house and liberated the hostage and arrested his captor, a 17-year-old from Siracusa. The young man who was kidnapped, who at the time of his liberation appeared to be in good overall health, was hospitalized at Umberto I Hospital in Siracusa for a wound to his right shoulder caused by his kidnappers on the evening of the clash between the two gangs in Scicli.
