Drug dealer arrested in Francofonte after hiding drugs in a gym facility.

The Carabinieri of Augusta and the Investigative Unit of Syracuse, of the Sicily Airborne Hunter Squadron, with the help of the drug and explosive detection dog units of the Nicolosi Canine Unit, during a coordinated operation in the Municipality of Francofonte, arrested a 25-year-old man, with previous convictions for homicide and firearms offenses, strongly suspected of drug trafficking. The Carabinieri found 115 grams of marijuana hidden in a container in a room of his home used as a gym. This morning the arrest was validated. The 44-year-old father of the arrested individual, previously convicted for offenses involving people and firearms, already under house arrest, was reported for drug trafficking and unlawful possession of ammunition as he had 25 grams of marijuana, a precision scale, and a bullet hidden in the bathroom of the house. The man was also reported for resisting a public official as, upon hearing news of his son’s arrest, he became agitated and ranted against the carabinieri.
During checks aimed at preventing drug trafficking in the municipality, a 28-year-old man who was hiding 100 grams of marijuana in his garage was also reported.
