Drug bust in Messina leads to 5 arrests

The mobile squad in Messina carried out five arrests and another precautionary measure in an anti-drug operation called “La villetta”, coordinated by the DDA of Peloritana. Five people were sent to prison and one will have to report daily to the police. The investigation has been ongoing for some time, with searches conducted in some local establishments and residences in the city districts of Mangialupi, Villaggio Aldisio, and Fondo Fucile. Drugs, ammunition, and a weapon were seized. Interception and video surveillance confirmed the existence of a gang active in drug trafficking, mainly marijuana and cocaine in the Fondo Fucile district. A thirty-year-old was at the head of the gang. There was a constant flow of “customers” at the homes of the suspects, even late at night. During the searches, around 20 thousand euros in notes and numerous bank and Postepay cards were found.
