With regard to the cost-affair affair, the national deputy of the Brothers of Italy, Hon. Carolina Varchi, author of the relevant Agenda presented days ago in Parliament, replies to the statements made by the Hon. Michele Sodano and published by some media: "5Star MPs – says the Hon. Gates – they probably voted without even reading the text. Otherwise they would have seen that, unlike what Sodano says, my agenda was perfectly pertinent to the discussion, so much so that it was considered admissible by the Presidency of the Chamber, which put it up for discussion and voting. Again: what Sodano talks about in relation to the financial one is a different measure, not yet applied, which in the future will be destined exclusively to some categories, albeit widely deserving of support, which represent a minimum audience compared to the users who crowd our airports . A first but not sufficient step. What I asked for was, quite simply, that the government initiate an interlocution with Alitalia to improve the flight plan: greater offer = lower prices for everyone. The majority did not want to take on this commitment that could have improved the lives of those traveling to / from Sicily. The proposal to improve the flight plan, however, follows the impromptu solution identified during the Christmas period by the deputy minister Cancelleri, according to the criterion that I have proposed to make it become a more organic solution. With the abandonment of Vueling, hundreds of seats per day waned, resulting in an exponential increase in prices. Sicilian parliamentarians have missed an opportunity to strengthen the action of their government on a delicate and transversal theme such as that of transport and the geographical margin of Sicily. I understand their difficulty in having to justify themselves in front of thousands of voters but this does not authorize them to mystify what happens during parliamentary work ".
