Dead woman in Agrigento hospital: filing for 4 doctors

Judge Stefano Zammuto ordered the dismissal of four doctors from the San Giovanni di Dio hospital in Agrigento accused of manslaughter and omission in official documents accepting the request of the public prosecutor.

The story arises from the complaint of the family members of Antonina Rizzo, originally from Favara, who died in 2017 at the age of 61. Initially it was assumed a delay of about a month of the histological examination which would then have ascertained the presence of a tumor. According to the prosecutor, the lawyers Vincenza Gaziano, Santo Lucia and Eduardo Cirino joined the request for dismissal, “even in the absence of serious medical failures, the death event would still have occurred”.
