Day in memory of the mafia victims, the torchlight procession starts, on March 21st a stop in Palermo
The Giro d’Italia of Libera kicks off, a torch of memory to remember the past 1000 innocent victims of the mafias. For its 25 years, Libera returns to the places that have hosted the national square on March 21 from time to time.
The initiative is called 'Torchbearers of memory and commitment': a torch will be carried around Italy, in a sort of symbolic relay that will touch the various territories involved. The first torch will be lit tomorrow 14 February in Padua, the place of the last 21 March, to continue its journey from the North (touching Turin, Milan, Genoa, Bologna), to descend towards Florence, Rome, Latina, Naples, Foggia, Polistena, Locri, Messina, and then end the trip …
