The only way to learn how to make cinema seriously is to do it in the field, or rather on set. With this spirit, the convention between the Dams of Palermo and the film school “Piano Focale” – Eikona Film was born, where students will be able to attend the internship provided by the educational plan. The initiative will be launched at 12 on May 27th in the Aula Magna of the Department of Humanities (viale delle Scienze, building 12).

The event is also an opportunity to present the educational offer of the film school “Piano Focale” which from that day opens registrations for the new academic year 2024-2025, confirming once again its extremely practical vocation. At Villa Riso (in viale dell’Olimpo 30/a) you can choose one of the 7 film courses, all of which are limited in number. These include Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Screenwriting, Film Production, Sound Recording, and Acting.

After the greetings of Professor Sergio Bonanzinga, coordinator of the Degree Course in Dams – Arts, Music and Entertainment Disciplines of the University of Palermo, there will be a screening of the short film “A Day” (2024), directed by Marco Maria Correnti and written by Giuseppe Gigliorosso. All produced by the Cinema School Piano Focale-Eikona Film.

At the end of the screening, there will be a meeting with the director Marco Maria Correnti and Giuseppe Gigliorosso (Director of the film school Piano Focale) moderated by Rino Schembri (lecturer in Cinematographic Techniques at Dams). The actor Sergio Vespertino will be present. The screening and the meeting are open events to everyone. During the meeting, a new initiative “A day on set” will also be presented by the Piano Focale Cinema School, which gives young people (and not only) the opportunity to live a day on the set of the end-of-year short films.
