Cyclist falls into a pothole, dies in hospital in Palermo after a month

A 65-year-old cyclist from Palermo, Salvatore Cracolici, died at Villa Sofia hospital where he was admitted in critical condition after falling off his bike due to a pothole in September, on Rosario Nicoletti street in the Tommaso Natale area of Palermo.
According to the municipal police officers, he was riding along that stretch of road when he entered the uneven area, and was thrown off the saddle falling heavily to the ground. He was assisted by the emergency medical services and taken to the hospital.
After a period of observation and subsequent admission to the Neurointensive Care Unit, his condition continued to worsen until his death.
