(ANSA) – PALERMO, APRIL 26 – Restaurateurs in the square with tables set in front of the Prefecture of Enna. The “Never more closed” event, organized by the Enna restaurateurs saw the participation of over 200 people including VAT numbers, owners of gyms, cinemas, the entertainment world, laundries, bars, hotels, farmhouses, b & bs , discos, NCCs, travel agencies, tourist guides, pizzerias, theaters, photographers, but also people from civil society, who have also arrived from outside the province to ask the national government to eliminate the curfew and colors which affect the trend of economic life.

A peaceful demonstration at the end of which the prefect of Enna, Matilde Pirrera, the mayor, Maurizio Dipietro and the national deputies Fabrizio Trentacoste and Andrea Giarrizzo were delivered a document with the requests, among which that of the dignity of work stands out.

“We are in the square at 60 – says a restaurateur from Enna – and after a life spent in the kitchen, where my parents’ blood flows, we are here to ask that they let us open immediately, safely but immediately. Opening and closing is deleterious for us. We face enormous expenses to get supplies and after two weeks they have us closed. Let them be desperate “.

Many interventions from an improvised stage and the testimonies also of the extra hotels who denounced the fact that their sector has never been closed but, since there are no tourists, they too are collapsing.

“The situation is unsustainable – says the owner of a restaurant who works mainly with the wedding sector – Between last year and 2021, 116 entrepreneurs committed suicide in Italy in general silence. The refreshments were insufficient. Now we have to reopen”. (HANDLE).
