520 new cases of Covid19 registered in the last 24 hours in Sicily compared to 13,152 swabs processed on the island. The incidence is close to 4%.
The island is always third for new daily infections in Italy after Lazio and Veneto and closely followed by Lombardy and Tuscany.
The current positives are 6,603 with an increase of another 412 cases. The healed are 106 while in the last 24 hours there are 2 victims again, bringing the total of deaths to 6,021.
On the hospital front, there is a slight slowdown in patients who are now 180, five fewer than yesterday but a slight increase in intensive care which is now 22, two more.
On the contagion front in the individual provinces Catania with 107, Ragusa 103 cases, Caltanissetta 81, Agrigento 72, Trapani 42, Syracuse 38, Palermo 34, Messina 23, Enna 20.
The extraordinary anti-covid-19 vaccination activities in the shopping centers in the province of Syracuse are also continuing. From Friday 23 July to Sunday 25 July the ASP of Syracuse will be present inside the Belvedere di Melilli Commercial Park with a temporary post for the anti covid-19 vaccination open to all age groups starting from 12 years old and without booking.
The initiative is part of the proximity vaccination campaigns that the Company is carrying out, as promoted by the Presidency of the Sicilian Region and the Health Department, with the institution, alongside the ordinary activities and open days in the Hub and vaccination centers throughout the province, of extraordinary vaccination points in the places of greatest aggregation, in order to obtain the broadest involvement of citizens who have not yet undergone, on a voluntary basis, vaccination against Covid-19. . This is in order to quickly achieve a vaccination standard in the Sicilian territory of not less than the percentage of 80 per cent for all the population targets identified at national level.
The establishment of the vaccination point at the Belvedere Commercial Park was made possible by the availability of the director of the Belvedere Commercial Park Francesca Maurigi and by the collaboration of the mayor of Melilli Giuseppe Carta, towards whom the general manager of the ASP of Syracuse Salvatore Lucio Ficarra expresses heartfelt thanks, and is organized by the Company’s Information and Communication Unit, the Press Office and the Augusta Health District, coordinated by the Medical Prevention Department. Medical, nursing, technical-administrative staff, psychologists and URP operators will be operating on site who will manage the reception together with the volunteers of the Civil Protection of Melilli and Misericordie. The vaccination point will be supported by a mobile unit of the Transfusion Center of the Umberto I hospital and by an ambulance and will be active from 4 pm on Friday 23 July until 9 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 9 pm.
People of all age groups starting from 12 years of age and without a reservation will be able to access the vaccination on a voluntary basis with Pfizer serum by presenting themselves with a health card and identity document and, possibly, with the documentation already filled in, downloadable from the company website from the following link http://www.asp.sr.it/default.asp?id=1228&mnu=1228.
