Covid in Sicily: Infections continue to decrease, 368 in one week

The number of new infections in Sicily has decreased, following the national trend. According to data collected in the week of June 19-25, the incidence of new positive cases was 368, with a cumulative value of 8/100,000 inhabitants. The highest number of new cases was reported in the provinces of Trapani, Palermo, and Messina. The age groups most at risk are over 90, followed by those between 70-79 and 80-89 years old. Hospitalizations have decreased, but more than half of the patients admitted are unvaccinated. As for vaccinations, 22.16% of children aged 5-11 have received at least one dose, while 90.91% of those over 12 have received at least one dose. There are still 1,120,983 individuals who are eligible for a third dose but have not received it. Additionally, 71.22% of eligible individuals have received a booster dose, including those aged 5-11.
