Covid: Dasoe, infections are decreasing in the week of Christmas

(ANSA) – PALERMO, DECEMBER 29 – In the week from 19 to 25 December there was a drop in new Covid infections with an incidence of 8,495 (-24.63%) and a cumulative value of 177/100,000 inhabitants. The highest rate of new positives compared to the regional average was recorded in the provinces of Ragusa (240/100,000), Palermo (198/100,000) and Caltanissetta (182/100,000). These are the data of the Department of Health Activities of the Region (Dasoe).

The age groups most at risk are those between 70 and 79 (295/100,000), between 80 and 89 (278/100,000) and over 90 (277/100,000). New hospitalizations are also decreasing.

The data relating to the vaccination campaign examines the week of 21 to 27 December. In the 5-11 year age group, 24.29% were vaccinated with at least one dose, while 64,390 children completed the primary cycle, equal to 20.89%. The over 12s vaccinated with at least one dose amount to 90.91% while the percentage of those who have completed the primary cycle is 89.55%. Those vaccinated with a third dose are 2,771,724, equal to 72.39% of entitled. .
