The percentage of positives with respect to molecular swabs is stable. Eight weeks ago the average of positives was 5.4%, in the following weeks 6.1, 7.1, 8, 8, 8.6, 13, 13.9, 12.7 and, in the last, 12.8%.

The minimum peak on February 19 at 4.8%, the maximum on January 10 at 19.8%.

In Messina, infections are slightly decreasing after five weeks of increase

After five weeks in a row of increases, infections are slightly decreasing also in the province of Messina.

The figure went from 340 weekly cases to 297 to 289 to 270, then to 351, 470, 654, 718, 802 and, in the last, 707, the average goes from 115 to 101 cases per day.

The other provincial data

New cases in decline in 7 provinces out of 9. The only two on the rise are Caltanissetta (in the last nine weeks from 179 to 198 to 193 to 237 to 379 to 360 to 525 to 541 to 487 to 592) and Ragusa (from 100 to 147 to 221 to 242 to 222 to 350 to 389 to 342 to 398 to 437).

Catania and Palermo account for 56.5% of total cases (and have 47% of the regional population), a percentage that rises to 68.4% if Messina is added (the three provinces have 60% of the regional population).

Currently hospitalized in intensive care are 171, for a total of 1,415.

Hospitalizations in Messina: from 73 to 83. On 22 February they were 100

In the three city hospitals (Policlinico, Papardo and Piedmont) and in Barcelona there are 83 patients (+ 10) of which 30 in intensive care (+ 4).

On February 22 there were 100 hospitalized, March 21 42, March 28 57, April 4 72, April 11 85, April 18 73, today 83.
