Covid and economic crisis, 15 million from the Region for the fishing sector

Thus the Councilor for Agriculture, Rural Development and Mediterranean Fisheries Toni Scilla formalizes the publication (tomorrow) of the provisional ranking of the notice of last November under the Solidarity Fund for fisheries and aquaculture, established by the current regional government with art. 39 of the Law of 20 June 2019, 9 and refinanced through the reprogramming of the Development and Cohesion Fund (FSC) 2014-2020, whose national administrative process has only been completed a few days ago. “The phase of acquiring applications for economic support is therefore starting to conclude – underlines Scilla – and we will soon provide aid to those who have requested it. The Musumeci government thus completes another action aimed at supporting a a sector considered central to the entire regional economy “. The economic aid is granted to fishing companies and to the members of the relative crews of boats whose shipowning companies are based in the Sicilian Region or which are registered in one of the Sicilian maritime compartments. All those entitled not present in the lists available on the website of the regional department of fisheries and aquaculture will be able to submit the application by 27 September 2021.
