Couple attacked for money in Licata: man injured in head with fork
The carabinieri of Licata, with the support of the helicopter squadron of Sicily hunters and those of the Palermo canine unit, carried out a precautionary custody order issued by the judge of Agrigento, at the request of the local prosecutor’s office, against five people, two 21-year-olds, an 18-year-old and two 22-year-olds, accused of extortion, attempted extortion, personal injuries, private violence in conspiracy and possession for the purpose of drug trafficking.
In three different incidents, the suspects in various capacities, last week, to extort a sum between 500 and 1,000 euros, attacked a woman and a man in their home with kicks and punches, injuring the latter in the head with a fork, and then took the inclusion card from which they withdrew the money. The aggressors threatened the victims with death if they reported the incident to the authorities.
One of the arrested is suspected of selling an unspecified amount of drugs to various individuals since June 2023. During the searches, the military seized a total of approximately 3 kilograms of marijuana, 45 grams of hashish, cutting and packaging material for the substance, a toy pistol without a red cap, and several cell phones.
A sixth suspect, a 23-year-old Egyptian, was reported, in whose home hashish was found. One suspect has been imprisoned in the Agrigento prison, another is under house arrest, and three have an obligation to stay at a certain place.
