Country Club disco in Palermo closed for 5 days due to disorder and attacks

The police chief of Palermo, Maurizio Calvino, has suspended the licenses of the Siddartha Country Club disco in via dell’Olimpo for five days, starting from November 8th. In recent weeks, there have been serious disturbances and even assaults on young club-goers, leading to hospitalization and lengthy recoveries. The most recent incident took place on November 5th, when a young man was stabbed while trying to defend a girl outside the club. This is not the first violent incident, as there were three other similar episodes in April and May. The public safety authorities have taken this measure in response to the recurring violence.
