Collision between a car and motorcycle in Messina: 74-year-old in critical condition

An incident occurred yesterday evening on the state road in Spartà, a coastal fraction of Messina. A car and a motorbike collided for reasons still being investigated. The impact was very violent. The 74-year-old man riding the motorbike was thrown off due to the impact and ended up on the ground. Passing motorists alerted emergency services. The 118 medical personnel arrived immediately and provided initial care to the elderly man, who was then transported to the emergency room at Papardo Hospital where he was admitted with a reserved prognosis. The municipal police accident investigation team also arrived at the scene to determine the exact dynamics of the accident. The road is temporarily blocked by the involved vehicles and traffic is being diverted. Transit vehicles have been necessary to turn back and take alternative routes.
