Catanian man caught burning copper coils: arrested in Misterbianco.

The carabinieri of the Misterbianco police station have arrested a 38-year-old man from Catania with a criminal record for illegal waste burning. While patrolling near a commercial park in Contrada Cubba, Misterbianco, they noticed a thick cloud of black smoke rising near some agricultural land. The carabinieri approached the exact location of the fire to assess the situation and caught the man in the act of burning copper wires on the ground. The man attempted to put out the fire with the water he had available. After confirming that the fire had not caused any harm, the carabinieri seized the 50-kilogram copper wires. The 38-year-old man was handed over to the judicial authorities who validated the arrest.
